March 17, 2010 is the deadline for registration at the Westin Colonnade Hotel Coral Gables, 180 Aragon Avenue (one block north of Ponce de Leon and Miracle Mile), Coral Gables, FL 33134, 305/441-2600, FAX 305/444-9706. The historic rotunda that was the Florida National Bank when we were at Gables is the centerpiece of the modern Westin Colonnade Hotel. Please make your room reservations directly with the hotel. Mention that you are with the Gables Class of ‘60 Reunion to receive the room rate of $129.00 per night. This is a fantastic rate for April in Miami.
The party on Friday night is dressy casual, to be held at Barbara and Marty Zweig’s home on Fisher Island, with plenty of time for catching up on our last 50 years. Those needing rides from the hotel please let us know on the registration form.
On our schedule is a Saturday afternoon tour of Coral Gables to be conducted by Dr. Paul George, noted historian. There is a limit of 57 people, so if you wish to go make your reservations early.
Saturday night will feature a dinner dance where the attire is casual cocktail.
Sunday morning features a Brunch. This will be a great way to say goodbye to our classmates.
A hospitality room will be open throughout the weekend. The times will be posted in your reunion packet.
A Memory Book including your biography information is being planned. Please send your best Gables memory, special events in your life and what you are doing now to Kay Whiteside ’58 to either P O Box 220650, Hollywood, FL 33020-0650 or Gables1960@hotmail.com prior to March 1 for inclusion. If you are unable to attend but would like the Memory Book mailed to you after the reunion, send Kay a check in the amount of $25 made out to CGHS ‘60.
